In the final episode 005 of our pilot podcast, we are talking with Milivoje Pantovic, an independent investigative journalist based in Belgrade, about the Chinese propaganda during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He specialized in the fields of interior and foreign policy and culture. He worked as a journalist and editor in Serbian news agencies Tanjug and Beta, the television B92 and BK, the newspaper Politika, and he is cooperating with numerous foreign media as well.

In episode 003, we are talking with Stefan Janjic, the editor-in-chief of the fact-check portal Fake News Tragač, about the general situation concerning Serbia-based media and the negative influence of disinformation spread during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stefan Janjic obtained his Bachelor in Journalism in 2014 as the best student of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. After that, he obtained his MA degree in the Communicology Department at the same Faculty and started the interdisciplinary doctoral studies in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities. He works as a teaching assistant at the Department of Media Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. He is the editor-in-chief of the fact-check portal Fake News Tragač. Janjic is a two-time winner of the Exceptional Award of the University of Novi Sad Senate for scientific work, winner of the Award of the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad for the best young researcher in the field of social sciences, as well as the award Being and Language of the Radomir Konstantinovic Foundation.

Within the project Care before you share – Montenegro, supported by NATO Public Diplomacy Division, we are publishing the first out of three videos. The goal of the project is to strengthen the resilience of our society to disinformation and hybrid threats as a precondition for the strengthening of democracy.

In episode 002, we are talking with Bozena Jelusic, a professor of Literature and Media Literacy, about what media literacy presents, what the situation is like in Montenegro, and why we need this subject in the school curriculum on all educational levels.
Bozena Jelusic graduated and obtained her MA degree at the Department of General Literature and Theory of Literature at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. After completing her studies, she was working as a professor of Literature and Media Literacy in the Grammar School Danilo Kis in Budva until 2017. She received the highest Montenegrin award in the field of education, OKTOIH (2000). From the beginning, she has been included in the reform of the Montenegrin education system as a member of the Council for General Education, methodologist of the literature and media education, author of the school curriculum, and the readers for the fourth grade of the grammar school. She initiated the introduction of the Media Literacy subject in the Montenegrin education system, the same year when UNESCO adopted the Paris Declaration on Media and Information Literacy. She is a member of the Media Literacy Coalition and actively cooperates as an expert in the Institute for Education and NGOs engaged in media literacy. Since recently, she is an MP in the Parliament of Montenegro.

In episode 001, we are talking with Aleksandar Brezar about the current issue of conspiracy theories, which found their place on a daily agenda with the coronavirus outbreak. Aleksandar Brezar is a journalist, fact-checker with many years of experience in media, from press and radio to television and the internet. He is a proud holder of the Balkan Fact-checking Award from 2017 provided by the Istinomjer and Pointer Institute. He is the host of the Sarajevo Calling podcast.
Digital Forensic Center
Digital Forensic Center is a project of the Atlantic Council of Montenegro with the main goals of countering the problem of disinformation and fake news as well as reducing problem of digital/media illiteracy through events, work shops, and lectures that will raise awareness of this issue.
