ABOUT US
Globalization and increasing use of modern technology, as well as ever-growing Internet availability, have considerably contributed to the importance the information has, its speed of spreading and influence, as well as the way it shapes political and socio-economic reality.
The Atlantic Council of Montenegro has recognized the need for establishing the Digital Forensic Center located in Montenegro, which basic goal is to fight against fake news and disinformation aiming at destabilizing the region’s politics. Therefore, it aims at strengthening civil society and the media sector, and to prepare them to face the actual problems. That is why we established the foundations for a digital center, which fights against contemporary complex challenges of the security, through a multisector and multidisciplinary approach of cooperation with the NGOs, the media and the Government.

The team brings together people from different fields – politics, journalism, and information technology – who cooperate closely with the Atlantic Council of the U.S., as well as the Institute for Statecraft from the United Kingdom. Likewise, we are part of the Integrity Initiative – a network of people and organizations from across Europe, dedicated to disclosing and countering propaganda and disinformation, and with the view to educating on how to spot disinformation and to verify the sources.
